Helen Frank Protas was a Jewish artist noted for her use of abstraction. She studied at Hamilton Art School in Ontario and in New York at the Art Student’s League and the Hans Hofmann School of Art. After moving to Sarasota, she was one of the early members of the Petticoat Painters, a Florida group of female artists.

- painting examined under UV light; stain to the frame to the right; chips to the edges of the frame; scattered scratches and paint loss to the frame.
