- examined under UV light; cracks and slight curving to composite panel of the painting signed “Degenkolb;” chips and flaked loss to paint and composite paint along the edges of the “Degenkolb” painting; craquelure, scratches, scuffs, accretions, and spots of discoloration scattered to paint of both artworks, but more heavily to that of the “Degenkolb” painting; cracks, chips, and flaked loss to the gold-toned paint and composite veneer of the unsigned painting’s frame; abrasions, scratches, scuffs, and accretions to frame.
