Born in Alabama, self-taught Outsider artist Mose Tolliver began painting after a work accident left his legs severely injured. He is known for his brightly colored compositions featuring simplistic forms and shapes often portraying abstract figures, animals, and nature. His works have been exhibited at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the American Folk Art Museum, the Corcoran Gallery of Art, among other prestigious institutions.
