Miró was born in Barcelona, Spain in 1893 and received his formal education at the Barcelona École des Beaux-Arts and the Académie Gali. He became friends with Pablo Picasso, Alexander Calder, Ernest Hemingway, Max Ernst, and Paul Klee. Miró was accepted as a Surrealist in Paris with the recognition of some of the greatest artists of our times.

- vertical crease and small holes down the center of print where the paper has been previously folded and bound; flecks of loose debris present between mat and the covering of frame at the lower right region; scuffs and flecks of discoloration to frame towards the lower right corner.
