A rare complete copy of ‘Preuves de la Maison de Polignac’ (five volumes) by Antoine Jacotin, inscribed and signed on the title page of the first volume by Prince Guy of Polignac (Paris, 1905-1996), dated 1937. The title translates to read ‘Evidence of the House of Polignac’, the five volumes are a collection of documents for use in the history of the ancient provinces of Velay, Auveigne, Gevaudan, etc., from the 9th to the 18th century. The information includes genealogical tables, wills, marriage contracts, political affiliations, the religious and economic history of many provinces from feudal times to the French Revolution. An amazing historical resource, with the first volume containing a very extensive fold out genealogical table of the noble family. Written in French.
