Atlanta-based artist Martha Z. Bator specialized in pastel still life drawings featuring objects she collected during her travels in Yugoslavia, France, Italy, and the Middle East. As a result, many of her pieces serve as an eclectic visual diary of her travels abroad. Her drawings, portrayed in a vivid Realist manner, also feature street scenes, landscapes, seascapes, and everyday genre subjects. Bator’s execution of color, line, and pattern speak to her attention to strategic composition, visual arrangement and rhythm when creating a work of art. Throughout her career, she was the recipient of several awards and her work has been featured in multiple publications including American Artist, Pastel Artist International, Peachtree Magazine, and Southern Home Magazine, among others.
