Robert Olszewski for Goebel Oriental Series Bronze Miniature Displays

Item Details

Robert Olszewski earned a bachelor degree of Science in Art Education from University of Pennsylvania, while a student he exhibited artworks in local Pittsburgh galleries. Upon graduation he taught junior high school before becoming a full-time artist popular for his minatures. Olszewski’s miniatures became popular after mastering the lost wax casting method but was propelled into miniature fame in creating reproductions of Goebel’s Hummels and Royal Doulton figurines. He later accepted the position of Master Artist at Goebel Minature Studios. In the late 20th century Olszewski created his own studio where his leading client was Disney, recreating areas of the parks and Disney films in miniature sculpted scenes. Robert Olszewski’s works have been displayed at Disneyland’s Main Street, U.S.A.; Carnegie Art Museum, California; The Baker Museum, Florida; the White House, D.C. and many more.
