- examined under UV light; region of craquelure, scuffs, and flecks of flaked loss to paint and varnish towards the lower center edge of painting; craquelure, scratches, scuffs, and accretions scattered to paint and varnish throughout; cracks, chips, and spots of flaked loss to gold-toned gesso accents and veneer of frame, more heavily along the outer edges of the bars; abrasions, scratches, scuffs, and accretions to frame.
