The Guerrière was a 38-gun frigate of the French Navy, which was captured by the British and recommissioned as HMS Guerriere in 1806. During the War of 1812, the HMS Guerriere was defeated by the USS Constitution. This event/guest book documents various dinners of the Guerrière dining society from 1933 to 1955. It includes documents, letters, photographs, and inscriptions from several notable guests such as Felix Frankfurter, Robert Frost (with an inscription of ‘Waspish’), Quentin Roosevelt II, Bertram Thomas, Gaetano Salvemini, Lawrence J. Henderson, Eliot F. Porter, and Thomas North Whitehead, among others.
