Kemper studied Design at the University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture, Art (and Planning (DAAP), where he currently also teaches. His fine art pieces have an international following, and his creative design work has won numerous awards. He is a long-standing former resident artist at Pendleton Art Center in the historic district of Over-the-Rhine, Cincinnati, Ohio.
