- embedded residue and scratches; paint chipping and loss; oxidation and verdigris to the metal components; scuffs to the front leather identification shields; inner lining shows crystallized remnants and stains; the Cairns & Brothers metal maker’s tags are present to the interior; one tag has been painted over in yellow paint; the attached chin strap shows stains; one helmet is missing its chin strap; alterations or additions to these vintage firefighting helmets may exist.
