Patricia Anne Pillitteri was an American sculptor with a deep affinity for the canine and equine forms. Patricia’s love for animals kindled early in her childhood, as the appointed trainer
‘in-resident’ for neighborhood pets. Her enthusiasm, intelligence, and keen eye for mammalian behavior quickly culminated into a blue ribbon for ‘best in show’ with her family’s standard poodle.
As a teen and young adult, Patricia spent countless hours at stables and horse shows observing and refining her understanding of equine movement, which ultimately informed and greatly influenced her artistic style. She studied equine mechanics, devouring every type of educational avenue to broaden her awareness, collecting over 1,200 books on the topic. Working in her home studio, Patricia expressed her passion primarily through clay, drawings, and paintings.
