Canadian-born sculptor Eric Tardif is known for his abstract wood sculptures of birds that often feature sinuous shapes and graceful movement. Using a non-traditional steam bending technique that exhibits the expressiveness of his chosen medium, Tardif’s craft captures the elegance and flight of the birds with a minimalist form. He explains that his inspiration is drawn from both nature and the natives of Quebec and Western Canada. Tardif received his art training from Matane College in Quebec and Quebec City Sculpture School. Throughout his career, he has received several awards and has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions in Canada, the United States, Japan, Italy, and Martinique among other countries.
