Howard Bond Landscape Silver Gelatin Photograph of the Tetons

Item Details

Howard Bond (American, born 1931)
Untitled (the Tetons)
Signed to lower right of mount
(n6858)

Born in Ohio in 1931, Howard Bond is an American photographer and a published writer. Bond’s artwork often utilizes close-ups and selective framing of old and worn-down man-made objects and architecture, decontextualizing his subjects so that the texture and shape reflect natural forms and landscapes. He has written for Photo Techniques magazine for over two decades and has published two books on his own work. Howard Bond’s photography has been exhibited extensively across the United States and Europe and belongs to the collections of prominent institutions such as the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
