Berdich was an American printmaker who worked for the Works Progress Administration. Her style of grotesquerie prominently influenced the surrealist group known as the Chicago Imagists. She later received a Bachelor’s Degree in Art from the Art Institute of Chicago School. After graduating in 1946, she taught etching from 1947 to 1979. Her prints are held in many national institutional collections such as the Smithsonian and Museum of Modern Art.
