Kingman is considered one of the greatest 20th century artists from Ecuador. His oeuvre focuses on the social and political realities of Ecuador natives. He studied at the Escuela de Bellas Artes among other art institutions. Eventually, he returned to Quito and gained the principal professor position at Escuela de Bellas Artes and served as Director of the Museo de Arte Colonial de Quito. His work is internationally exhibited and housed in prestigious collections.
