.999 Fine Silver FDR Centennial Medallions and JFK Gold Plated Half Dollars. These ‘Double Eagle’ silver medals from 1982 feature a left facing Franklin Delano Roosevelt to the obverse and mirrored image of a spread wing eagle clutching arrows and olive branches to the reverse. The medallions were offered by the National Historic Mint and come with commemorative first day postal covers from Dominica. Also included is a 1968 40% silver and clad 1983 half dollar which are electroplated in 24K gold and feature a left facing John F. Kennedy to the obverse and National Seal to the reverse. FDR Medals: Metal Content: 99.9% silver. Mintage: 25,000. Diameter: 37.9mm. Weight: 1 troy ounce/31.1grams (each). Kennedy Half Dollars: Designer: Gilroy Roberts/Frank Gasparro. Metal Content: 40% silver, 60% copper. Diameter: 30.6 mm. Weight: approx. 12.5 grams (pre plating 40% silver) Medallions and coins are uncirculated with little to no wear.
