Item Details

1862 CSA $100 Banknote, T-41. This note features John C. Calhoun to the lower left of the obverse, Liberty to the lower right of the obverse and slaves working in a field to the top center of the obverse. The reverse is blank except for the hand written notation of ‘Issued March 1, 1863.’ The note is hand dated December 1, 1862 with the obverse also having the serial number #87607 hand written in red ink along with the signatures of Shuster and Harvey. This note was printed by Keatinge and Ball of Richmond, Virginia with a total of 670,400 issued and is circulated with vertical fold lines and the lower left corner is missing.
