Well-established sculptor and designer, Harry Marinksy is known for his whimsical and abstract work. At the age of three, he and his family immigrated to the United States from Russia and was first introduced to sculpting during high school. His skills developed and afforded him a scholarship to Rhode Island School of Design later Pratt Institute. Directly out of college, Marinsky served as Art Editor for American Home and Country Life. He also produced many cover illustrations for the magazines, as well as others such as Women’s Day, Home and Garden and more. His exhibition debut was for the 30 American Artists in 1940 at the Montrose Gallery. While he is a noted sculptor, Marinsky also enjoyed watercolor painting while traveling throughout Europe. Eventually, he settled at a Tuscan farmhouse in Caprigila in 1972 and continued to create sculptures at the Tomassi Foundry. Many of his works are held in public collections including, The Museum of Outdoor Arts, York University Museum, Carnegie Mellon Institute, and more.
