- low pile wear and loss with exposed knot collars, visible foundations, and threadbare areas scattered throughout; abrash, dye bleed, uneven fade, and light discoloration to pile; matted pile, creases, and buckling to rug from folded storage; broken yarns, gaps, and snags to selvedge binding; fraying to weave at both ends, with short fringes and apparent loss of border from one end; distortion to form with variation in width and depth; supportive stitching along fringe ends to prevent further fray.
