Douglass MacArthur Autographed Silver Certificate and J Edgar Hoover Autograph. This lot consists of a 1957 blue seal $1 silver certificate bank note autographed by General Douglass MacArthur and presented with a mint never-hinged Scott #1424 Douglass MacArthur 6-Cent stamp from 1971. The note features a right-facing George Washington with a blue seal and serial numbers to the obverse, and the Eye of Providence and National Seal to the reverse. Also included is an autograph of former Director of the F.B.I, J. Edgar Hoover on an autograph card. The card has light toning and the banknote appears uncirculated measuring 6 1/8″ × 2 5/8’. Douglas MacArthur’s signature has a full letter from James Spence Authenticators, certifying the signature. J. Edgar Hoover’s signature was given a ‘visual’ pass by a third-party authenticator (that COA will be sent to the winning bidder at a later date).
