This proof silver dollar commemorates the 50th Anniversary of Jackie Robinson winning Rookie of the Year honors and breaking the color barrier in Major League Baseball. The coin features Robinson’s iconic feat of sliding past the tag of Yogi Berra while stealing home in Game 1 of the 1955 World Series against the Yankees to the obverse and banners and ribbons with a likeness of Jackie Robinson’s autograph to the reverse. Designer: Alfred Maletsky and T. James Ferrell. Mintage: 110,002. Metal content: 90% silver, 10% copper. Diameter: 38.1 mm. Weight: approximately 26.7 grams. The coin is uncirculated and encapsulated. Coin includes a certificate of authenticity and is presented in the original U.S. Mint box.
