- spots of dark adhesive residue, stains, and stiff pile scattered towards one end; discoloration and uneven fade to pile; crushed and thinned pile wear; fuzzing to pile surface; broken yarns, gaps, and snags to selvedge binding; minor fraying to weave at both fringe ends; discoloration and variation in length of fringe; distortion to form with variation in width and depth.
