American Buffalo and Yellowstone National Park Silver Proof Dollar Coins. The American buffalo coins commemorate the Buffalo Nickels of the early 20th century and were released in conjunction with the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian. They feature a right-facing Native American to the obverse and a left-facing American Buffalo to the reverse. The Yellowstone coin has Old Faithful to the obverse and an adaptation of the seal of the Department of the Interior with American buffalo to the reverse. Metal content: 90% silver, 10% copper. Diameter: 38.1 mm. Weight: approximately 26.73 grams. Coins are uncirculated, encapsulated, and presented in their original U.S. Mint boxes.
