‘Giants of Russian Literature’ Fine Silver 3-Medal Set. Set contains three silver medals, depicting Tolstoy, Pushkin, and Dostoyevsky. Medals were produced in 1975 with limited mintages of 2,000 a piece. Medals were commissioned by the Soviet Politburo as official state gifts for visiting foreign dignitaries. Recipients of this set include Mikhail Gorbachev, Richard Nixon, Margaret Thatcher and Armand Hammer. Metal Content: 99.9% silver. Weight: approx. 31.1 grams (each). Medals show no wear and come in a wooden display box that measures 8′ × 3 1/4′ × 1 1/4’.
