Paul Bogatay Studio Pottery Saki Bottle and Cups, Mid-20th Century
Item Details
Bogatay was a well-known ceramic artist, working alongside other Cleveland School artists such as Edgar Littlefield and Arthur Baggs. He received his education from the Cleveland School of Art under R. Guy Cowan. Afterward, he was invited to teach at Ohio State University where he remained for thirty-six years. He co-founded the Ford Ceramic Arts in Columbus, Ohio, and was the recipient of many artistic accolades such as the Louis Comfort Tiffany Award, Fulbright Fellowship, Rockefeller Foundation Grant, and others.
