Member of the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh, artist and teacher Kathleen Zimbicki was raised in an area of Midway, Pennsylvania. She studied with American artist Joseph Shepler and Austrian-born American artist Henry Koerner. Zimbicki works in a variety of media but is particularly drawn to watercolor and plein air techniques. Referred to as “magic realism,” her fantasy-related work has been exhibited in more than a dozen countries and can be found in both private and public collections in the United States, the UK, Canada, and Australia. Throughout her teaching career, she has instructed at various institutions including the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, the Carnegie Museum of Art, Carnegie Mellon University, TouchStone, and Sweetwater Arts, among others.

- tiny holes present in paper along the upper and lower edges of the painting, likely from thumbtacks or pins; visible tear to paper towards the upper left edge of the painting; slight curving and buckling to paper from unflattened storage; light toning, scratching, and debris to paint and paper; minor creasing and wear to paper along the edges of the sheet.
