Said Oladejo-lawal is a Columbus based painter who explores movement associated with music and dance through his dynamic acrylic paintings. He describes his work as Impressionist in style because of the application of paint “yet with the cloak of a Fauvist” in his use of color. Said was born in Lagos, Nigeria in 1971 where he began his training as an artist at Yaba College of Technology. He continued his studies at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh before settling in Columbus. His awards include Best in Show at the 2019 Westerville Arts Festival, 2019 Wyoming Arts Festival, and 2019 Easton Art Affairs.
