A Robert Laessig wooded landscape 1959 watercolor is a charming miniature painting. Robert Laessig (1913-2010) was a well-known landscape and wildlife watercolor artist and art director at American Greetings Card Company. The rectangular unframed landscape illustrates a season change with fall colored hues, but the last bit of unchanged green leaves visible in the foreground. To the right and left are rooted trees and a central running stream leads the viewer’s eye further into the woods. The painting is done in watercolors, but small details of acrylic paint were applied to provide depth and texture. The artwork is dry-mounted, signed by the artist and dated 1959 in the bottom right corner. The title is unknown.

Condition
The mat paper has yellowed aging and a few tears, but the original watercolor is in very good condition.
