No one enters parenthood thinking that they’ll be the parent of a child with extra health needs, but when it happened to us, I can’t tell you how thankful we are that we have such an amazing children’s hospital in our hometown. From the doctors and nurses to the cafeteria staff and associates in the gift shop— the entire staff at Cincinnati Children’s treats our daughter with kindness and compassion. She’s more than just a health issue or a patient to them. They take the time to listen to our concerns, answer our questions, and hold our hands and walk us through any issues or procedures that may come up. And they’re always there with coloring pages and stickers and really cool bandages to make a tough appointment a little bit easier for her!
