Ordered by President Franklin Roosevelt; General Jimmy Doolittle and his skilled pilots led a risky bombing mission over the Japanese mainland after the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor using this type of bomber. After a risky 16 plane bombing raid over the Japanese islands, General Doolittle’s crew crashed in China after running out of fuel.
