Schnur was an established painter from western Pennsylvania. She received a Bachelor of Science from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and later a Master of Fine Arts from Penn State University. During the 1950s and 1960s, Schnur held a position as an art teacher for elementary schools. By the early 1970s, she decided to focus on art full-time. Andrew Wyeth heavily influenced her work and her best known canvases are large in scale in the Brandywine School style. She was awarded many honors by the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh. Schnur’s paintings have been exhibited internationally and are highly collected.

Condition
- scattered spots of discoloration, likely from paint droplets, visible towards the center-left region of the painting; varying degrees of craquelure to paint present throughout; scratching, scuffing, discoloration, accretions, and minor flaking to paint, more significantly along the edges of the painting; light indentations to canvas, most visibly to the upper right region, as well as along the borders where the painting presses against the wood stretchers.
