"LION'S ROAR" Movie Periodicals, One Signed by George Cukor

Three LION’S ROAR periodicals from the 1940s. Each magazine has articles about upcoming movies, interviews with personalities and honoring the US military. The front cover of the 1945 magazine features a young Lucille Ball with the Ziegfeld Follies; the 1946 cover has Clark Gable and Greer Garson, the third magazine cover has an artist rendition of the famous MGM lion. The magazine with the MGM lion on the cover has an article about George Cukor and how he directed Greta Garbo in Two-Faced Woman. He signed the article “To Nida Gibson with the affectionate good wishes of his war-time buddy (signature) 1958 P.S. it was at this picture that caused Mrs. G’s retirement from the silver screen”.
