Self-taught artist Carleton Wing is known for his collages and assemblages, often featuring surrealists scenes, which he began creating in 1981. The artist started experimenting with digital collage in 2006, then turned to 3-dimensional assemblage in 2009. Wing renovated an abandoned building in Lexington, Kentucky into his art gallery Wingspan Gallery where he regularly exhibited his own work alongside local and national artists, and faculty and students from the University of Kentucky and Transylvania.
