Born in Norway in 1914, William Fredericksen is most known for his bright and bold geometric abstracts and figurative crayon compositions. He studied art at the American Academy of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Institute of Design. At the Art Institute, Fredericksen was taught by esteemed Bauhaus masters László Moholy-Nagy and Alexander Archipenko. Fredericksen developed detailed collages representing authentic pieces of old sailing ships, bridges, and colored collages. Fredericksen has had several one man shows at the Emmerick Gallery, N.Y., the Silvermine Annuals and the Jasper Rand Gallery.

- heavy wear to edges of panel; slight warping to panel; dust and accretions present to painting; small losses of paint throughout; scratching to surface of painting; losses of paint to right margin of piece; scuffing along margins of image; wear to corners of panel.
