1861 Indian Princess Head $1 Gold Coin. This coin features a left facing Liberty in Eastern style Native American headdress to the obverse and “1 DOLLAR” in a wreath of laurels to the reverse. Designer: James Barton Longacre. Mintage: 527,150. Metal content: 90% Gold, 10% copper. Diameter: 14.3mm. Weight: approximately 1.7 grams. Coin appears lightly circulated and also appears to have been mounted as a piece of jewelry at some point.
