- overall with scuffs, nicks, and scratches consistent with age and use; item was restored in the late 90’s/early 2000’s with repairs to lions head on right facing side, new screws to secure platform, and refinished; heavier scratching to lid; lower left facing door is loose and needs repair; missing pieces of carved lion on the bottom of the right facing side
