Attributed to Margot de Taxco Vintage 'Wave Circle' Sterling Champlevé Necklace
Item Details
Margot van Voorhies was a highly influential silversmith presiding in the city of Taxco, a hub of modernist, Mexican jewelry. Primarily working in colorful enamels she worked in traditional motifs evoking Mayan and Aztec designs as well as Egyptian, floral and serpent motifs. This is design #5547 ‘Wave Circle’ and can be found on page 151 Plate VIII-29 in Margot Van Voorhies: The Art of Mexican Enamelwork by, Penny C. Morrill.
