| Additional Information | The vintage Hollywood photos consist of photos from these movies: Hit Parade of 1943; a Paramount 1942 movie still starring African-American actors; (2) photos from The Thirteenth Chair; a photo of “Rex Carleton as the madman Miller Gordon is the scientist in The Sexperiment an Aba film”; (2) movie stills from The Lion in Winter ; a movie lobby print of “Bernard Shaw’s Caesar and Cleopatra” and a wide photo shot of the British International Pictures and a Sound Studios. There are two contemporary large prints of a Mae West/W.C. Fields movie still and a Gone With The Wind scene featuring Vivien Leigh and Hattie McDaniel. In addition, a worn and tethered folder with the name of Huntly Carter along with notations. Huntly Carter was a British journalist and critic, his papers and personal files can be found at the University of Notre Dame. Inside the folder movie photos from Halleluhjah (1929), 1931 Silent Conquest, a movie still of a French film (illegible writing on the back); a French film still Paper – Cut; a French film still Finis Terrae; a British Instructional picture still of “Lady Lavery”; a movie still of Windjammer; a movie still from The Erl King; a movie still from “a Night Club scene from “High Treason”, the Gaumont British talkie”; a photo of English actress Phyllis Neilson-Terry in character; a scene from East Lynne, 1931 film; a movie promotional photo print of Dirigible, it shows a U.S. Navy zeppelin hovering over a military ship; and a movie still featuring Loretta Young in Madonna of the Lilies. |
