Additional Information Housed in the book is a letter written to Dr. Lafayette B. Mendel of Yale University offering a copy of the book to be added to the Valentine Museum collection. The writer of the letter was Granville G. Valentine whose family owned the original letters. Mr. Valentine is not only offering several copies to be placed in the Valentine Museum but also a personal copy as a gift for Mrs. Mendel. A short explanation of whether the original letters should “see the light of day” is included in the letter.
