Grandson of the folk artist, Howard Finster, Michael was born in Georgia in 1969, and dropped out of high school to help paint with his grandfather. Michael would help paint and cut plywood for Howard. His work features similar imagery of religious and natural subject matter, but also often includes fantastical depictions of aliens, dinosaurs, and mythical creatures. Like Howard, he numbers his works and has completed over 4,000 pieces.

- foxing, stains, and rough knots of wood visible to the clouds of the base to the left and lower right; minor dust.
