Jennifer Baldwin has taught art at Dixie Heights High School since 2008, and has been an art educator since 1976. She is also a professional artist, working in various media including printmaking, painting, mixed media, drawing, and 3 dimensional constructs. A recent mural commission of hers is on display in front of the Hellmann Creative Center on Martin Luther King Blvd. in Covington, Kentucky. Baldwin also served as the Regional Director of The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards from 1994 -2017. When discussing the inspiration for this painting, she explains, ‘Cats know how to relax, which is something I have a very hard time doing. So I find some peace in my observations of cats laying around just being.’

- negligible wear to edges of canvas; hair dried into paint to lower right corner.
