1853-O Seated Liberty ‘Arrows and Rays’ Silver Half Dollar. This coin features Liberty looking back over her right shoulder with shield ringed by thirteen stars to the obverse and a raised wing eagle with shield clutching arrows and olive branches to the reverse. Designer: Thomas Sully/Christian Gobrecht. Mintage: 1,328,000. Metal content: 90% silver, 10% copper. Diameter: 30mm. Weight: approximately 12.4 grams. The coin is circulated and worn and appears to have been cleaned.
