Darian Landers was diagnosed with Autism at the age of two. She has been drawing and crafting since the age of three. She works in a variety of mediums including, but not limited to, pencil, pastels, and paint. She also constructs elaborate costumes utilizing couch foam, fleece, and faux fur. When describing this work, she writes, ‘A blue azure butterfly greets a friendly red fox. The fox is gazing down upon the butterfly while it rests atop its nose. The rich sienna background is Illuminated by the fireflies that surround the duo. The painting itself is intended to invoke a warm and welcoming feeling within the viewer.’
