Abby Gibson has enjoyed creating art her entire life. She aspires to study art in college and pursue a future career in the arts, particularly in illustrating children’s books.

She explains that this painting is meant to provide the viewer a sense of perspective and emphasize the peace in the midst of the wild storm. The tranquil whales are going about their day without a care in the world – clueless to the storm above. While on the surface, a ship is fighting nature’s wrath, the whales are safe and carefree below the sea.
