George the Third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland, King Defender of the faith. To all to whom these present letters shall come greeting. Know ye, that among the xx pleas of land inrolled at Westminster before Sir William de Grey Knight and his Brethren our justices of the bench of the term of Saint Richard in the twentieth year of our reign upon the 617th and 618th rolls it is this contained Elsewhere as it appears in this same term upon the 615th roll it is this contained Buckinghamshire William Croke Gentleman in hisproper person demandeth against Samuel Wilde x Gentleman one messauge four gardens forty acres of land fifty acres of meadow fifty acres of pasture and common of pasture for all cattle with the appartenances in Grafton and in the parish of Wing as his right and inhertiance and into which the said Samuel hath not entry but after the disseisin which (Hugh Hunt?)thereof unjustly and without xxxx judgement hath made to the aforesaid William within thirty years _ and whereupon he saith that he was seised of the tenements and common aforesaid with the appartenances in his demesne as of fee and right in the time of peace in the time of our Lord the King that now is by taking the profits thereof to the value &c and into which &c and thereuf he bringeth x suit &c and the said Samuel in his proper person cometh and defendeth his right when &c and thereupon _ to Warrant Henry Woodman and Mary his wife to be summoned in the county aforesaid let him have them here in fifteen days of Saint Martin by the _ of the count &c the same day is given here to the parties aforesaid &c and upon this the said x Samuel appointeth in his stead Alexander Gerrard and Richard Hussey his attorneys jointly and severally against the said William to gain or lose of the plea aforesaid &c _ which say here comes as well the said William in his proper person as the said Damuel by the said Richard Hussey his attorney and the said Henry and Mary being summoned &c likewise come by Robert Fawcett their attorney and freely warrant the tenements and Common aforesaid with the appartenances in his demesne as of Fee and Right in the time of peace in the time of our Lord the King that now is taking the profits thereof to the value appartenances and into which appartenances and thereof he bringeth suit appartenances and the said Henry and Mary tenants by their own warranty the tenements and common aforsaid with the the appartenances in manner aforesaid _ whereupon he said that he was seised of the tenements and common aforesaid with the appartnenances in his demsne as of fee and right in time of peace in the time of our Lord the King that now is taking profits thereof value &c and into which &c and thereof he bringeth suit &c and the said Thomas Francis tenant by his own warranty defendeth his right when &c and saith that he said Hugh did not disseise the said William of the tenements and common aforesaid with the appartenances as the said William by his Writ and Decleration above doth suppose and … term in his proper person and the said Thomas Francis although solemnly called cometh not against but departed in contempt of the court and the maketh default Therefore It Is Considered that the said William recover his seisin against against the said Samuel of the tenements and common aforesaid with the appartenances and that the said Samuel have the Land of the said Henry and Mary to the value &c and furthe that the said Henry and Mary have of the Land of the said Thomas Francis to the value &c and the said Thomas Francis in mercy &c and thereupon the said William prays the King Writ to be directed to the Sherrif of the County aforesaid to _ full seisin of the tenenments and common aforesaid with the appartenances to be delivered to him and it is granted to him returnable here in eight days of Saint _ &c All And Singular which premises at the request of the said William by the tenor of these presents we have commanded to be exemplified In Testimom whereof we have cause our seal appointed for sealing writs in the bench aforesaid to be fixed to these presents Witnesss Sir William de Grey knight at Westiminter (sic) the twentieth day of November in the twentieth year of our reign.
