Provenance
From the collection of Charles Sayles.
Sayles was a notable ship model maker and ivory carver. His most recognized work is the ivory whale adornment on Nantucket Lightship baskets, a prevailing feature since the 1940s.

- varied toning and yellowing to papers and gelatin binder; cracks to gelatin binder layers; silvering and fading to photographs; scuffs and scratches to frames.
