Carl Schmidt Rookwood Pottery Monumental Vellum Glaze Vase, 1914
Schmidt was a German-born American who decorated pottery from Rookwood from 1896 to 1927. His best known works for Rookwood are the iris glaze vases. Many of his vases feature floral motifs such as irises, tulips and wisterias.
