Item Details
Schmidt was a German-born American who decorated pottery from Rookwood from 1896 to 1927. His best known works for Rookwood are the iris glaze vases. Many of his vases feature floral motifs such as irises, tulips and wisterias.

- surface and glaze irregularities with crazing throughout; slight surface abrasions toward center; dust, accretions, and discoloration to interior; slight sticker residue to one side; small chips to along base; marked with an incised “x” to underside, indicating a second.
