Influenced by German Expressionism and graffiti elements, Keil is known for his simplified abstractions of traditional art subjects. He studied under Otto Nagel at a young age and developed relationships with other renowned artists such as Joan Miró. As Keil abandoned realism and developed his signature style, he used more vibrant colors rapidly applied with large gestural brushstrokes resembling the abstract style of Picasso.

Condition

- discoloration and accretions to paint and paper, most visibly to the upper left quadrant of painting; minor creasing along the edges of paper; peeling to paper at the verso of the painting.
