Peyton is best known for contemporary style and figurative portraits of historical figures, cultural celebrities, and friends. Working in painting, drawing and printmaking, her work explores the intensity and personality of her subjects through portraiture. Peyton received a Bachelors of Fine Art from the School of Visual Arts, New York City in 1987. She continues to exhibit internationally.
